Festina is an established low cost entry type brand to mechanical watches. The one you have here looks to have a Miyota 82S0 movement which is a cheap but reliable workhorse no date version of the typical 8215 family. You're not getting haute horology for your money but if you like the look of it you're likely not buying a lemon at least.
29. Farer. Named for the icon of British explorers and their vessel, Farer continually strives to develop attractive, innovative timepieces. Their watches are bold in color with contrasting textures, inspired by the halcyon era of watchmaking. Farer watches combine high-quality craftsmanship at affordable prices. 30. MVMT.
Not all of the watch brands make classic mechanical watches like back in the day. And the size of the companies varies greatly. Most of the watch brands in this list are still alive and on the market. However, due to the sheer volume of watch brands, the status of watch brands consistently and constantly changes.
The Miyota 9015 is something of a mid-level automatic movement made by the brand. If you want to buy this movement alone, it will cost you around $100, which is considerably more than basic entry-level movements made by the brand. It has a 42 hour power reserve and an impressive 28,800 beats per hour which is comparable to brands such as ETA Business Insider spoke with three watch experts to see which watches they would recommend for those looking to invest. Bob's Watches. The experts Business Insider spoke to all recommended the same brands: Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet. These brands, in addition to Richard Milles, are synonymous with luxury in the watch world and Pagani's a decent homage brand to my understanding. Invicta is better. Steinhardt tops both of them but is also around 500 while Invicta and Pagani is around 100. I recently got an Invicta Pro Diver 8926OB which is an homage to the Rolex Submariner without trying to fake being a Rolex. Very clear it's an Invicta.
Certina Aqua DS Action Diver. Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic (or Mechanical) Mido Ocean Star 200. Tissot Gentleman Powematic 80 Silicium. Citizen NB1050-59A. Seiko SPB143. Some of those are beyond your budget but will give you an idea, you’ll be able to find cheaper pieces from some of the brands e.g. Seiko.
Fortunately as a doctor you can treat that Festina yourself and avoid the embarrassment of a walk in clinic. What kind of watch are you wearing btw?
I used to like affordable Seiko watches in times SKX was widely available. Today the affordable part of their collection feels like it was co-designed by accountants: it looks good, margins are good but build quality is meh at best. I’d choose Hamilton/Tissot, AliExpress brands (esp San Martin) or some micro brand for any purchase above $300. otvnGk.
