I have a 2008 RR 3.6 TDV8 vogue se with 100k on clock and full main dealer service history. Just before Christmas a series of warning lights were displayed, brake, air suspension, special programs off and finally "transmission failure - limited gears available". The vehicle then lost all electrics and wouldn't restart.

I stopped and the message centre said "transmission fault limited gears available" or something like this. I felt it was probably due to being a bit hot, so I let it sit for a while and then continued the last 3 -4 km up to the summit, by the time I got there I got the fault warning again about 100m from the summit.

- An ā€œEā€ where the gear normally appears - HDC Fault System Unavailable - Check Brake Pads (front and rear pads were changed in the last 3 months so they are all Fine) - Engine System Fault - Transmission Fault Limited Gears Available - Transmission Fault Stop With Care - Parking Br Fault
I got the car back a month ago and have gotten the car to wakeup sometimes and start naturally and the backup camera works fine, transmission runs fine, but I only get a couple days at most before the car won't start again. Most repeated DTC: U0101 - Lost communication with TCM. land rover dealership replaced steering angle sensor and Transmission fault limited gears available 2. Transmission fault and overheat 3. Transmission fault 4. Transmission overheat The P0741-00 code mentioned is listed as "Torque converter clutch permanently open". The fault strategy is as follows Default (Limp Home) Mode If a transmission fault is detected by the TCM, the TCM adopts a limp home
19.4k. Location:Wedmore, Somerset. Posted. 4900rpm is the rev limit for the TD5 suggest you will need to drop the main gearbox, either to replace the flex plate, torque converter, or the box itself. My tentative money would be on the flex plate, you can see this if you remove the cover panels as above.
I'd chock the wheels, unlock the center diff and put the front end on jack stands. Have someone hold one of the front wheels and you turn the other. Then you hold yours and have them turn the other. The one that doesn't turn the propshaft is probably the one with the problem. Though if things are jammed they both could turn it.
Hi. I got into my vehicle this morning, and reversed down my driveway, when the following error message popped up "Transmission Fault - Limited Gears Available" When I selected "D" the vehicle did not move, but if I selected "R" it worked. Also tried it in sport mode, but it did not select any gear.
Suspension Fault Normal Height Only (Every time about 30 sec. after starting) Passenger Airbag Light (Nothing is in the seat, happens everytime for last month) HDC Fault (About once a week, along with other) Trans Fault Limited Gears Avail. (About once a week with HDC fault) Suspension Lowered (Automatically, happens with HDC fault also) xewg.
