The e92 is the coupe model what does that relate to in the f series if any.The reason as you have found is the f80 will not have the mechanism to tilt or raise the seat forward. Can you not use the mechanism from the e92 seats.No doubt every thing is electric which adds another complication to it.
BMW's heated seats are excellent - they evenly heat the bottom, back, and bolsters, even the little pull-out thigh support bolster on the sport seats. They have 3 temp settings and will remember to come back on automatically if you return to the car within about 15 minutes. They're well-worth the $500. 2014 335i Sedan 6MT. have: '09 E90 premium, non-sport, non-heated seats buying: sport seats off an '09 with premium and heat. 1. expecting/hoping everything on the seats will work except obviously the heat 2. since the new seats will have all heat-related components what would be required to retrofit the switches and related wiring to get the heat working? There are a few variants of the E90 fuse box (having wired my heated seats last week I know all about it!) but in general when you look in at the fuse box, the relays concerned are on the left hand side. There's more than one. You should hear an audible click when you turn the heated rear window on (I do, my car is a 04/2010 build).
F30 electric seats retrofit. My 2012 F30 320d originally come with cloth manual seats. Luckily, sourced a set of leather sport seats with full electric adjustment + memory +heating + rear split folding. Several month ago, I spent a whole day got this fitted according to wiring diagram in ISTA-D.

Joe-Maybe you have checked this, but under the seat each heating element (seat cushion and seat back) has a separate plug that plugs into the harness, check and make sure the cushion element is plugged in, hopefully it isn't so easy fix. More likely it is a broken heating element.
