These are really good for urban/suburban areas that do get winter conditions like the Boston - DC corridor. If you live in areas that rarely see any snow/ice (like VA/NC/SC) you can get away with really good all seasons like the Continental Extreme Contact DWS.

For snow, or any other road condition other than desert climates, get a 4matic. I have never been stuck in the snow in my w163 (all were 4matic), nor my w166 250. However, there is also so much you can do when it comes to snow vs a luxury suv. All depends on specifics. It's not a Wrangler. Sent from my BBF100-6 using Tapatalk
The C300 4MATIC also ran through our quarter-mile test 0.2-second quicker than the base coupe, in 14.5 seconds at 96 mph. Despite the tire disadvantage, the 4MATIC pulled the same 0.91 g on the
2018 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class GLA 250 4MATIC 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 7AM) This vehicle is very comfortable to drive. Even in cold weather, the heating system keeps the vehicle comfortable

This is the 2018 Mercedes Benz E Class E300 4MATIC in the snow review Snow Drive. In this video the conditions are Hazardous with alot of snow fall, I asked

Greg, and they even added the sentence: "Even on vehicles with all wheel drive use snow chains on the rear tires only." Makes one wonder why? In the 2002 manual it said to use chains all all four wheels for maximum traction and if only two are available to use them on the rear wheels. The 2005 G manual says to use chains only on the rear wheels.
These super soft compound tires are designed for temperatures above 40 degrees, after all. Many aren’t even really good in the rain, let along the snow and ice. But that isn’t to say that you can’t use them in the white stuff. Just that it’s a little dangerous, though also kinda fun. Especially when you’re driving a Mercedes-AMG C63 S.
My basic requirements where MY06, Black/black, RWD, 100k +/-10k, Working A/C. I noticed a whole lot more 4Matics for sale than RWD. 4Matic only adds a lot of extra parts to be replaced, especially around the 100k mark. There are plenty of other parts on the car to keep up replacing/maintaining.

I had 1 instance of complete loss of traction which occurred at a junction where the snow was very compacted. I also lost the front end a couple of times but no real drama. kNWb.
