I just got a 2023 Niro SX yesterday w/ Harman Kardon speakers and just found a “fix” for the poor sound quality. It might sound crazy, but instead of rolling back the bass, I did Treble +6, Midrange +8, and bass +1. Everything sounds so much clearer and now I’m really loving the sound.
Build Thread. I've ordered an I4 M50 WITH the upgraded HK sound system. I really appreciate a good sound system in my car and always listen to music while driving. But the dealer has a car arriving soon that they've offered me that has the same specs except without the HK sound system. I am considering getting that car.
The basic HK amp will power the in car speakers just fine, the subwoofer amplifier cannot power an aftermarket subwoofer all too well but the one thing to note, the car does track movement speed and will increase power to the speakers that you have with both the aftermarket amplifier as well as the stock ones. As any BMW Harman Kardon sound system review would agree, Top Hi-Fi is a. significant improvement over the BMW HiFi speaker system. For anybody looking. to upgrade their system at a later date, the fiber optic amplifier connection. means most popular aftermarket amplifiers on the market will not be. Upgrade - Loudspeaker system BMW advanced , 205W amplifier and 12 speakers, including 2 subwoofers under front seats. £395. Upgrade 2 - HK, 600W, 16 speakers. £895. Upgrade 3 - B&W which is £3750!! For that I'd want it to make my breakfast in the morning! Sure it's amazing though.

2016 BMW X1 [0.00] Retrofitting the Harman Kardon system into my new (X1) F48. My X1 F48 came with standard HIFI sound system and I cannot stand it especially when used or coming from a better sound sys. The BMW X3 Harman Kardon system and BMW X5 Harman Kardon system both also add extra rear speakers, but put them in the D-pillar instead of the shelf. That means more speakers and a more immersive sound with the factory stereo, as well as an easier upgrade route when it comes time to swap the stock speakers out.
