Jon Snow and Daenerys first meeting - 10 minutes of gripping dialogue. Spoils of War - probably better than Battle of the Bastards. The idea that after Season 4 has gotten worse is completely not objectively true, as many viewers—including *snob* book readers—either liked or loved Season 6. Many critics even loved Season 5.

The first 2.5 books are good, though you'll learn all about sigils and what color doublet everyone is wearing. You can stop after the Red Wedding because the rest is shit. The entire franchise has a giant marketing machine behind it now, especially on social media, so you can't really trust the hype.

Reminder - The crow who posted this thread has made it a (No Spoilers) thread. This scope covers NO story elements of ASOIAF or "Game of Thrones" per Rule 3.3.Any discussion of the story of the books or the show must use an appropriate spoiler tag such as (Spoilers Main) or (Spoilers Published).

Outside of Funko Pops, socks, music boxes, bookmarks, and other dumb nonsense, I've been attempting to round together all the different printings of the texts. I have hardcovers, softcovers, 20th anniversaries, and even the beautifully done folio society editions, but I just found out about the graphic novels done for asoiaf.

I read the books between seasons 5 and 6, back in late-2015/early-2016. Me seeing the show had no affect on the book-reading experience. AGoT is indeed very close to Season 1; ACoK and ASoS are a lot like seasons 2–4, but there are some minor changes that eventually have major butterfly effects to Season 5 and onward.
He also changes how he pronounces names ( Catelyn, Brienne, Gendry ect) between books and sometimes even between chapters. Dotrice was probably one of the most loved AND hated narrators while he was still alive. He narrated the first book when he was already very old, and you know how quickly GRRM writes.
It was referred to as the Kingdom of Isles and Rivers and included the Riverlands and the Iron Islands (where House Hoare originated). Before that, the Blackwoods and Brackens were Kings in that area. The Tullys along with the Tyrells are the only Great Houses who were never Kings prior to Aegon's Conquest. blakhawk12. bEBTm.
